The Foundation

The Surikov Foundation, established in 2008 by collector Dolores Tomás, has as its main objective the dissemination of Russian culture and art, focusing on 20th-century painting. In addition to managing the Dolores Tomás Collection, the Foundation offers courses in Cultural Management and lectures on Russian culture and collecting, operating as a non-profit entity.

Dolores Tomás’ mission to promote Russian art, particularly Soviet art, has been constant for over 35 years.

The Foundation has established itself as an effective means of achieving this goal, holding numerous exhibitions in major museums and reaching a wide audience in Spain. To date, the Collection has been exhibited on 17 occasions, allowing hundreds of thousands of people to appreciate the works and their historical context.

Committed to the recognition of painters who worked in the former Soviet Union, the Surikov Foundation seeks to ensure that these artists receive the visibility they deserve in art history.

The Collection is always willing to travel to places where there is interest in learning about it, thus contributing to the dissemination and appreciation of this part of Russian cultural heritage.
